The Romanian-Canadian Association of Ottawa Gatineau (ARCOG).

The Romanian-Canadian Association of Ottawa-Gatineau, established in September 1986 has been reactivated by completing the annual reports starting with the year when the association became inactive.
Alter the reactivation we requested the change of its name from Romanian-Canadian Association of Ottawa-Carleton to Romanian-Canadian Association of Ottawa-Gatineau, and also requested to have the name of the new association and its “letter patent” in the two official languages, English and French. The following step is to request the change of the Association status as “Charity”.

The basic principles of the Association are:

1. The Association promotes the desire of the Canadian of Romanian origin to integrate positively into Canadian society.
2. The Association supports the idea to preserve the Romanian traditions and to hand them over to the future generations.
3. The Association includes all members of Romanian language, without discrimination of religion, colour, race, ethnicity, sex, political preference, citizenship, etc.
4. The Association militates for preserving the prestige earned with difficulty by us and the past generations, and will try to find the adequate means to respond positively to correct the errors that may appear in relation to the esteem that we are proud of.
5. The Association desires to become the Romanian-Canadian Association of the capital of Canada in all representations in Canada and outside Canada.
6. The Association will develop contacts with the other Romanian-Canadian Associations in Canada and outside Canada that desire to collaborate.
7. The Association will keep up a strong link with Romania, with Romanian authorities through the Romanian Embassy in Ottawa. The Association also wishes to participate to all the events organized by the Romanian Embassy, events relevant to the scope and purpose of the Association.
8. The Association desires to carry on its activities through the voluntary efforts of its members.
